OptiMiser Update 10-30-2009 - Lots of Tricks (and Treats)!
Welcome patient OptiMiser supporters! Thank you for your patience.
This week started testing outside the development circle and the program surpasses our expectations for flexibility, performance and design. Recent Developments We have passed over 90% of BesTest criteria met, and are working on the remaining tests. This is especially rewarding since the BesTest results are based on industry standards like DOE2, and OptiMiser was designed to perform differently and of course more accurately in terms of existing billing. Our analysis before calibration to utility bills is successfully replicating all but two of the test results from DOE2.
Highlight of the Month Our weather data has exceeded anything else available commercially, combining three weather data bases: 5,000+ 30-Year Normals stations, 1,000+ TMY3 stations, and 5,000+ current weather stations. However, for those in areas like Colorado with a variety of climates and altitudes, it may be difficult to get a station that has appropriate weather for the home site. We have this month added sophisticated queries that identify the nearest stations for each database using a weather-similarity metric that automatically finds the best stations considering altitude, distance, and degree days. We have received data from weatherization program participants, including before and after utilities, house characteristics and improvement measures. Our final validation will test OptiMiser’s success predicting savings for these projects. We will have the results in our next installment...
Thanks, The OptiMiser Team
