Until now, energy audit software has been inefficient and inaccurate for use in existing homes because it's been designed for analysis of new construction.  Unable to take advantage of information from historical energy use, such software has often generated estimates of energy usage and savings that are far too high.*  In addition, such software typically provides inadequate report generation capabilities, forcing auditors to spend hours in the office generating reports for customers.  Finally, the costs of energy improvements typically have been inaccurate, as they've been generated by estimation based on oversimplified auditor input.

OptiMiser Reports

OptiMiser provides a customizable library of report content that  can be configured in an endless variety of report options, limited only by the auditor's time and imagination.  2000+ analytic results and inputs in the OptiMiser program are available to be automatically included in the report.  Flexible "snippet" technology allows the auditor to use custom mail-merge-type logic and functionality. 

The report library is pre-loaded with two reports:  one from EnergyLogic, a nationally respected auditing firm, and one developed by Lightly Treading specifically for utility company audits.  It is also pre-loaded with the California Energy Commission Statement of Work Standards.

OptiMiser Estimates

OptiMiser provides detailed cost estimates for major retrofit improvements, integrating material and labor costs from customizable tables.  These tables include considerations for company auditors and raters, hours and units of materials, startup time, travel time, job complexity adjustments, and labor factors.

Estimates are prepared on seven separate estimation sheets that can be printed as job documentation.  The estimation sheets are automatically filled out as you proceed through the audit, but can be fully customized at any point.
